ART DISCOURSE: ENTERING A NEW ERA TIME BASED MEDIA

Time-Based Media or New Media Art describes art forms that are either constructed, altered and conveyed by means of new and emerging technologies; and has a durational dimension. Contemporary works that include video, slide, film, audio or computer-based technologies are referred to as time-based media because they unfold to the viewer over time.

How can something be defined as art, even if there are no conventional media involved? Join us in a discussion about Time-Based Media, how it emerged and where it is heading, both internationally and within our local art scene.
