Bakat Muda Sezaman 2021 (Art on Site)
Location: Rooftop Kapallorek Art Space

Artwork Description:This installation represents the interplay between human consciousness and creation of perception which allows the exploration of potential visual as well as language for the portrayal of mental process. It symbolizes a juxtaposition which promotes a stimulus to an invisible visual that is later on completed in the mind of the viewer in which the images and symbolism further questions the system of perception. Hence, this refuses any single narrative as it lets the audience to decide on their arrangement; thereby stripping away the artist’s authority. The central idea of this work is the removal of the artist’s determining power and would be hypocritical if it is only based on the artist’s perspective. The point is to allow spaces, materials, and objects to emerge as their own individual elements; refusing to force them into a position of generality. The strength of this installation evokes an experimentation of transparency and invisibility as a quality which plays in between attraction and repulsion. The context and meaning may vary according to the treatment of language and visual as a sculptural material which simultaneously let the work to escape from the artist control and follow its own path. Overall, the artist is able to distribute a poetic license to the audience by allowing them to create their own invisible sculpture. At this point, art becomes more of an activity and less of a product.
