SISI TV #03<\/strong><\/p>\n

SISI TV is a series of experimental cinema project to showcase and distribute any kind of moving-image works created by artists who wants to show from their own perspective. There are no rules in the process of video making and the aim is to explore new possibilities for experimental and emerging creative practices to a wider audience. The selected works will be presented on a television set, placed at Kapallorek Art Space.<\/p>\n

Four video works have been selected for the third screening #03 from 1 until 30 December 2021:<\/p>\n

Statement<\/p>\n

In a temporary and unstable reception, my work obsessively explores the interplay of juxtaposition between an object, body, and primary situation which directly involves the mundane aspect of everyday. Fundamentally, each alteration is to reveal or create an otherwise obscure feature, which trying to destabilize the viewer\u2019s notion of reality and authenticity. In an abstract situation, this idea is driven by taking familiar object, subject and procedure out of the real context to elicit new interpretation that normally unstable. In this attempt, I recontextualized the subject in order to stimulate the viewer\u2019s imagination and transcend an alternative visual vocabulary which we called it \u201csubjective construct\u201d. Critically, I\u2019m focusing in blurring the original meaning into a new instruction for audience in revealing \u201cnew logic\u201d which inspired by Roland Barthes \u201cthird meaning\u201d that suggesting every images has its own accidental meaning in evoking a sense of the extraordinary within the ordinary. Time becomes the action; unfamiliarity becomes the priority.<\/p>\n

Statement:<\/p>\n

“DISKRIMINASI MODENISASI” menggambarkan kesan ghaib atau tersirat sama ada positif atau negatif terhadap penggunaan gajet dan teknologi moden dalam dunia hari ini. Mesej yang dilaksanakan adalah atas dasar metafora. Manusia benar-benar melihat sesuatu sekadar cuma dengan mata kasar, sedangkan tidak dapat meramalkan perkara tersirat lain yang lebih mendalam daripada apa yang ditunjukkan di depan mata. DISKRIMINASI MODENISASI cuba mendedahkan dan mengetengahkan misteri kesan tersirat penggunaan teknologi moden, yang gagal ditafsir oleh kita manusia dengan pemandangan biasa.<\/p>\n

Kaleidoscope merupakan satu visual yang amat masyhur dan menakjubkan. Pembawaan video seni ini adalah ingin menunjukkan visual yang sangat kompleks dan unik. Dengan mengutamakan prinsip rekaan kesatuan atau Unity, Kalei ini hanyalah sekadar imej pergerakan yang memaparkan visualizer seumpama zaman-zaman Winamp dan juga VLC player untuk audiens melihat dan menghayati bait-bait visual yang rumit dan trippy. Video ini juga mengaplikasikan seakan-akan zaman 80an antara vintaj dan retro seperti efek VHS dan diiringi bunyi-bunyi yang anti-catchy.<\/div>\n

Statement:<\/p>\n

In the year 2019, plastic pollution became terrible alarming, especially in developing countries. Malaysia\u2019s president during that time, Dr. Mahathir Mohamad fortunately made an announcement to send back plastic waste to their respective original countries. Following that, there were other Asian countries that decided to do the same action. Due to that incident, this artwork was created to link the karma event in a visual form. An easier way of understanding this in an everyday situation is that we cast away plastic into the ocean, and the fishes will eat the plastic and ending with us eating the fish. It is a never-ending cycle of us getting back what we deserved.<\/p>\n
